General Statement of Duties Under the direction of the Homeless Services Coordinator, the Housing Specialist Assistant provides vital support to housing specialists. This position assists with completing housing and financial assistance applications, determining and re-verifying eligibility, and connecting clients to needed services.

Representative Work Functions and Responsibilities

Meet with clients to complete triage assessments using strong customer service and communication skills.

Conduct in-person interviews, help clients complete required forms, and gather documentation.

Support eligibility determinations for new and ongoing assistance and help link clients to appropriate services.

Enter accurate information into various databases and spreadsheets, and maintain organized records, files, and spreadsheets.

Review documents for completeness and prepare, scan, copy, file, or fax materials as needed.

Perform basic math calculations using a calculator.

Plan and prioritize daily tasks while collaborating with the supervisor and team members.

Assist with report preparation and other administrative or operational tasks within the division.

Support front desk operations, including greeting visitors, beginning client intake, providing directions, answering questions, and handling phone inquiries.

Process transactions accurately and efficiently.

Consistently deliver excellent customer service to all clients, partners, and visitors.
