Overview
Hotel Sales Manager
The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for driving groups, corporate, and convention businesses while supporting the coordination of events as assigned by the Director of Sales. This role focuses on cultivating client relationships, maximizing revenue opportunities, and ensuring seamless communication between sales, catering, and operational teams. The Hotel Sales Manager plays a key role in promoting the hotel’s services, enhancing guest satisfaction, and contributing to the overall success of the property’s sales efforts.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with the Director of Sales to develop and implement strategies that attract corporate, government, convention, and banquet business.
Assists the Convention Services Manager during peak periods and prepares Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for small event-only business.
Supports the Director of Sales in setting annual and quarterly sales goals.
Produces and presents periodic sales performance reports to upper management, including comparisons to budget, prior year results, and other key benchmarks.
Conducts property tours for meeting planners and prospective clients, highlighting all hotel and resort services. Hosts and entertains clients during site inspections, pre-planning visits, and program operations as appropriate.
Partners with marketing leadership to develop collateral materials and marketing plans that support both retention of existing relationships and the acquisition of new business.
Coordinates with internal departments and company personnel to ensure the successful planning and execution of conventions, meetings, and special events.
Provides consistently positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and team members.
Maintains a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment within the assigned area of responsibility.
Qualifications
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience.
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Delphi, and LMS.
Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and handle multiple simultaneous tasks.
Ability to coordinate events with clients and create Banquet Event Orders based on client details.
Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
Must present an image of excitement and enthusiasm, while being able to project a professional appearance and demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Display strong work ethic and teamwork.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and marketing plans.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* At least five (5) years experience in convention/group sales in a high volume hospitality industry with a 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
At least three (3) years experience coordinating events and processing Banquet Event Orders
