Senior Product Designer

is responsible for leading the design and user experience of complex, user-centric products to include defining user needs, developing sophisticated design concepts, ensuring optimal usability, and makes decisions on overarching design content. Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, and other internal stakeholders, to drive advanced design strategies and innovation. In addition to executing design work, plays a role in establishing and promoting best practices, tools, and methodologies, while continuously enhancing the design process and mentoring other designers.

Responsibilities

Lead design strategy for assigned product line. Own the end-to-end design vision from discovery through delivery. Partner with PM to frame problems, define success metrics, and connect design work directly to business outcomes. Drive experience audits and journey maps to identify critical user pain points and shape roadmap priorities.

Conduct and lead thorough observation sessions, usability studies, and contextual research with residents and internal stakeholders (e.g., property managers, maintenance teams, and leasing agents). Analyze research into actionable insight that shape product direction and roadmap priorities. Champion the user perspective in sprint reviews, stakeholder meetings, and cross-functional planning.

Design and deliver high-quality interactive design, visual design, and prototypes across web and mobile product lines. Drive the evolution of the shared design system by enhancing components, patterns, and standards across all product lines without compromising quality.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, ops, data teams, and others). Navigate competing priorities across product lines and help drive alignment. Cleary communicate design rationale to various audiences.

Mentor and coach other designers through critiques, pairing sessions, and design reviews. Facilitate collaborative working sessions to evaluate and refine solutions as a team. Establish and document design practices, research methods, and quality standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, relative field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Minimum six (6) years of experience in UX design, product design, or related field.

Expert knowledge of user research methods, usability testing, and user interface design principles and patterns required.

Expertise in Figma, design systems, and prototyping tools required.

Experience with other design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar) preferred.

Experience designing complex workflows: multi-step processes, role-based interfaces, dashboards, or operational tools required.

Portfolio and examples of design work that demonstrates design process and outcomes required.

Ability to connect design decisions to business metrics required.

Excellent communication and facilitation skills required.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, or other web development technologies preferred.

Ability to work independently and proactively and manage multiple projects and deadlines required.

Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, and influence and negotiate with stakeholders required.

Visionary thinking with a deep understanding of user-centered design.

Ability to influence and inspire others towards a common goal.

Exceptional analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple high-impact projects concurrently.

Compensation The anticipated pay range/scale for this position is commensurate with experience. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.

Additional Compensation This position is eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus.
