Overview
Parker Lord is seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager to join our Chemical Sales Team. In this role you will manage existing business and drive sales growth of Parker Lord Industrial Assembly Protection & Solutions (APS) products in an assigned Southeast territory, sold through distributors and select direct customers. This role is ideally based in Cary, NC or Atlanta, GA, but we are open to other locations across the Southeast. If located in Cary, NC, you will operate on a 4 days in office / 1 day remote hybrid schedule when not traveling. The role involves collaborating with distributor sales personnel and current and potential direct customers to build and manage a robust sales pipeline, and working with Parker Lord functional groups to identify and win new sales opportunities across structural adhesives and electronic materials, including commercializing new products/technologies to address customer needs. The position requires 30%–50% overnight travel. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong client relationships with customers while meeting position objectives. Ensure Parker products are specified to maintain and increase revenue by prioritizing opportunities on an account-by-account basis to optimize sales and margins. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages and benefits. Keep up with internal and external training and development. Obtain specifications and approvals at key accounts to develop increased sales opportunities and margins. Develop and maintain knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace; provide reports on a regular/monthly basis. Keep management aware of changes that would affect Parker product sales. Assist in planning and implementing appropriate response strategies; support cross-divisional products with proper referrals. Coordinate and provide training at the customer site. Provide sales direction to Parker and assist in converting competitive accounts to Parker. Travel as required. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5–8 years of related sales experience Experience selling adhesives or high-value consumables through distribution partners Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment and cultivate strong customer relationships Strong technical aptitude and knowledge base Knowledge related to adhesive applications and/or experience in a manufacturing environment including materials, processing, applications, testing equipment, etc. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong project management, organization and planning skills Ability to translate customer requirements into viable technical solutions and quantify value Ability to travel overnight as necessary (potentially up to 50%) Strong leadership, verbal and written English communication skills, including telephone skills Fundamental computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems (SAP and BW) Ability to actively manage the sales pipeline using a CRM from lead to opportunity to close Valid driving license and ability to travel 30%–50% of the time Preferred Qualifications:
