In so doing, this position will work closely with internal partners to ensure those plans and activities are aligned with the Company’s near-term and significant business objectives and coordinate external engagement across the internal functions involved. The Government Relations Director is a senior, high impact leader responsible for the development and execution of a proactive, multi\_level government affairs strategy.**Role and Responsibilities****Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:*** Advise leaders on policy issues, bills, legislation, trends and regulatory development and ensure strategic alignment of business pipelines with state, local, and federal policy landscapes.* Develop and executive a government relations plan and strategy that tracks, analyzes and reports out on a regular basis on key public policy issues, bills and legislative trends in the State of Texas and local communities that impact Samsung Austin Semiconductor’s existing business – including issues such as semiconductor policy, economic development & incentives, transportation, emergency management, utilities/power/energy, water and wastewater, environmental and more.* Monitor emerging public policy, legislative, regulatory and political issues that could impact the organization and work with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to proactively develop or recommend actions* Advising Company, negotiating and compiling on behalf of Company, and supporting Company, as needed, for various economic development incentives, emergency management.* Build, schedule and maintain trusted relationships with key elected officials and key staff as needs* Lead lobbying efforts that advance Samsung’s goals such as: workforce development, investment incentives, research funding, tax reform, environmental and semiconductor friendly regulations.* Represent Samsung at public hearings, briefings, industry roundtables, and vendor generated events.* Collaborate with the Communications team in developing messaging and public affairs strategies to produce targeted supporting materials such as presentation materials, one-pagers, public testimony, correspondence, briefing notes, submissions and tours in support of issues, proposed legislation, projects or to enhance Samsung Austin Semiconductor's reputation* Participating in regular meetings with Company leaders as requested to provide updates on government relations, stakeholder engagement, and other issues related to the Services.* Attending public or internal events or meetings, as requested by Company.* Being available during non-traditional work hours and weekends, on a limited basis* Manage a Government Affairs Specialist and external consultants, lobbyists to support Samsung’s GR plan and activities* Ensure representation of Samsung Austin Semiconductor at trade association, government, coalition and other industry stakeholder meetings as appropriate.* Liaise and collaborate with the US Public Policy and Strategic Communications teams to improve the legislative environment and to help enhance the semiconductor industry at the federal level.* Supporting political engagement activities surrounding Samsung American PAC, in coordination with the Samsung Austin Semiconductor PAC leadership, Communications and USPA Government Relations and Strategy and Operations teams.* Contribute to the development and maintenance of a corporate government relations database containing all current and relevant issues and contacts.**Skills and Qualifications****Here's what you'll need:*** Bachelor’s in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or related field.* Master’s (MBA, MPP, or MPA) preferred.* 10+ years in government affairs for technology or semiconductor firms, including direct lobbying and policy development.* Strong understanding of state and local government policy and budgeting is necessary.* Maintain the highest integrity and ethical standards* Extensive, first-hand experience in a combination of roles including working inside state and local government (e.g.governor/mayor/legislature) and in corporate government relations, and/or with an association* Experience presenting complex issues and opportunities to high-level officials and third-party partners* Sound judgement, diplomacy, and the ability to liaise confidently, effectively and positively with internal and government stakeholders* Sense of urgency, agility, transparency, respect, and collaboration in a team setting* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines on multiple initiatives* Passionate about government service and the role of government in society .Ability to work in a team environment and partner with other cross-functional staff.* Excellent written and oral communication for stakeholders across all levels.* Strong analytical ability to translate policy proposals into actionable corporate strategy.* Ability to navigate complex political environments, maintaining neutrality while advancing corporate advocacy objectives. • Proactive, accountable, and results oriented mindset.The current base salary range for this role is between $141,580 - $290,230. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.**Total Rewards**
