The Basics Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience
Days/Hours:
This job will be primarily day shift, but you can expect to work off hours periodically, including weekends.

Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs
Material Handled:
Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

What you’ll be doing The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for providing training, support and assistance to hourly team members. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary workplace in compliance with Company policies and applicable regulations.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
Commit to worker safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company policies and procedures
Perform and oversee grain-handling operations, including loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, drying, storage, aeration, and fumigation
Assist in supervising personnel and day-to-day operational activities
Assist in managing the business to plan against pre-set objectives
Weigh and measure materials and products; use scales and other instruments to verify specified tonnages
Operate controls, levers, and valves to start pumps, auxiliary equipment, and conveyors; adjust equipment positions, speeds, timing, and material flows
Record and track data (weights, types, quantities, storage locations), and document equipment performance issues and downtime
Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment, machinery, and workstations using hand tools, shovels, brooms, chemicals, hoses, and lubricants
Monitor conveyor operations and instrumentation to maintain specified operating levels and detect equipment malfunctions
Assist the Superintendent with preventive maintenance protocols and elevator operations
Communicate tasks, directives, and policies clearly with senior management and supervised team members
Communicate effectively in English for safety-critical tasks and documentation; reasonable accommodations are available
Requirements to be successful in this position
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of experience managing grain-handling facilities or similar operations
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in agricultural mechanics, agricultural business, or equivalent preferred
Available to work off-hours and weekends
Professional demeanor, including safety consciousness, quality of work, cleanliness, and effective verbal communication
Obtain OSHA 10 certification within the first six months of employment
Obtain State Commercial Pesticide Applicator License within the first six months of employment
Obtain USDA Grain Inspection License within the first six months of employment
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role
This job can be physically strenuous
You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
You will work at heights
You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders
You will be required to wear PPE
