Job Description

The Finance Client team is responsible for reporting client efficiency across Citigroup. The team concentrates on developing effective measures of client return on capital, which is a key area of focus for Citi's Executive Management Team. This is a global function that advises Citi's leadership on the effective distribution and utilization of capital by client.

We are hiring a Vice President in our Buffalo office to lead our efforts to drive process efficiency. In this role you will be a part of a fast-paced team-oriented meritocracy where everyone has a voice and your ideas could have a powerful, immediate impact. This position offers a significant amount of responsibility, with an opportunity to develop custom strategies on behalf of the team.

Team members are involved in business advisory and in translating data into meaningful analysis that is critical in driving actions in various areas of the firm. Team members continuously learn new products, systems, and business practices as they analyze business strategy and respond to changing client needs, developing product knowledge across Citi (including Banking, Services and Markets) and working in a rewarding, creative and dynamic environment.

The priorities of this role are both to produce accurate, complete, timely and well-controlled client level revenues and returns, and to develop enhanced routines to drive efficiencies. This role is responsible for developing new methods for defining, building, and distributing client financials to the firms' stakeholders and will work closely with the business teams and finance partners to create a single source of truth for client financials across the firm.

The "Business Analytics - Lead Analyst" position is expected to analyze operational data, develop and present proposals for improving processes that produce monthly client financials and design upgraded capabilities for reporting and analytics. The broad areas of responsibilities include:

Design and prototype process enhancements to drive efficiencies

Apply operational risk management best practices to demonstrate all reporting processes are well-controlled

Be the owner and operator of regular, recurring client reporting processes

Engage directly with various business teams across the Markets division to analyze client returns and support robust client analysis

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry with a focus on financial reporting and process simplification and efficiency

A demonstrated history of applying operational risk management best practices in the reporting of financial results

Experience in accounting or other financial reporting field

Ability to coordinate processes and work as part of multiple teams across a firm

Ability to work under pressure in a highly professional environment

Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact at all levels of an organization

Education:

Bachelor's degree and significant qualifications in Accounting, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Business, Engineering, or other quantitative field
