King County's Department of Information Technology (KCIT) is seeking an
IT Asset Management Lead . King County manages four primary asset types: hardware, software, data, and authentication credentials. This position will focus on inventory processes and lifecycle management for enterprise hardware and software.
King County utilizes a diverse portfolio of regulated technologies, including traditional workstations, servers, and network equipment, as well as Internet of Things (IoT) devices, Industrial Control Systems and SCADA equipment, medical and healthcare devices, and facilities technologies such as network-enabled HVAC and lighting systems. King County's technology support, financial planning and auditing, and cybersecurity stakeholders must have high quality data to be successful and achieve compliance with King County's regulations and financial and contractual requirements.

Job Duties
Strategy & Planning Establish (or refresh) standards and procedures for tracking IT hardware and enterprise productivity software assets. Participate in evaluation and continuous improvement of the asset management process and system of record management software. Conduct and report on hardware or software asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis. Assist Procurement and Contract groups in developing and managing sourcing strategies for the organization. Identify opportunities for volume purchasing to obtain price breaks. Monitor and analyze trends in county spending and inventory control to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings and/or asset optimization. Research industry best practices and compare against the organization's practices to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets. Effectively communicate asset management strategies to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Generate, distribute, and review relevant management reports. Operational Management
Formulate and implement processes and procedures for tracking and analyzing technical and financial data of Countywide enterprise productivity software, hardware, and equipment from requisition through retirement. Ensure all required attributes are inventoried in the systems of record and ensure information is up-to-date, accurate, and auditable. Perform inventories and license usage monitoring of all IT assets and record all findings, changes, and physical location.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Strong familiarity with asset management practices Superb inventory skills Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies across a wide variety of areas At least 3 years of demonstrated experience using recent Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suites Experience with Microsoft Teams Knowledge of cloud based technologies such as OneDrive, SharePoint, etc. Experience working with an IT service management tool; specific knowledge of Cherwell preferred Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential Strong attention to detail Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Ability to comprehend, interpret, and comply with county policies and procedures Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to establish and maintain exceptional customer relationships Skill in collaborating effectively with management, peers, other KCIT service teams and customers Skill in building consensus and coming to a resolution among a diverse group of individuals with conflicting viewpoints Demonstrated positive attitude towards peers and leadership, learns from mistakes, seeks feedback, is open to criticism, and is easily coachable Ability to communicate orally or in writing; including the ability to communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience Skill in handling multiple competing priorities Understanding of Equity and Social Justice principles Additional qualifications that are highly desired
Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, or related fields Certified Software Asset Management Professional and/or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional through IBSMA, SIIA, IAITAM, or BSA Understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) process Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprises Supplemental Information

KCIT works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is the
Chinook Building 401 5th Avenue Seattle, Washington. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
