Claim Operational Analytics Analyst 4
Kemper is seeking an Analyst 4 to join our Claim Operational Analytics team. In this role, you will collaborate with partners across Claims, Product, Actuarial, Finance, Quality Management, Human Resources, and Data Science to analyze performance trends, design experiments, improve reporting, and support long-term strategic initiatives. The position leverages data research, statistical analysis, and modern analytical techniques to deliver actionable insights that drive operational improvements and profitable growth. The Analyst 4 will also mentor junior analysts and help strengthen analytical capabilities across the organization. Position Responsibilities: Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities impacting operational and financial performance. Apply statistical analysis, experimentation, and machine learning techniques to understand customer behavior and business outcomes. Evaluate current metrics and recommend improved methodologies to ensure appropriate measurement of performance. Present complex analyses in a clear and actionable manner tailored for different audiences and leadership levels. Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that support performance monitoring and decision making. Mentor Analysts 1, 2, and 3 to support professional development by providing timely constructive feedback and patiently coaching skills. Manage multiple competing priorities and support long-term strategic projects with limited direction. Identify project dependencies, risks, and opportunities to ensure successful delivery of analytical initiatives. 25% travel may be required Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant field of Data Science, Economics, Physics, Math, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering - Mechanical or Electrical. Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring. 2+ year of industry experience preferred (or relevant Financial Services experience). 5+ year of work experience Advanced skills with SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Python/R or other programming language. Ability to apply statistical thinking and experimental design to business problems. Demonstrates the ability to translate an operational change into a financial impact for the business. Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex analytics to non-technical audiences. Ability to design and execute an analytical strategy as a project lead.
