We are seeking a seasoned Senior Director of Engineering with a profound emphasis on services platform architecture to lead our Seller Experience platform engineering organization. The successful candidate will drive modernization initiatives to transform our platform into a highly adaptable self-service offering for both internal developers and our external third-party provider (3PP) API community. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Guide teams in architectural refactoring, focusing on monolith-to-microservices migration. Collaborate with architects to design and implement a next-generation services platform. Define and promote the engineering vision to enhance growth and engineering velocity. Develop strategies for improving operational and execution efficiencies. Strategic Collaboration: Partner with product and business stakeholders to align technology roadmaps with strategic goals. Foster strong relationships with third-party partners. Influence the future platform strategy and execution across the company. Management Style: Cultivate an engineering culture focused on collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. Mentor and evolve team structures, workflows, and interaction models to optimize delivery velocity. Advocate for community engagement, equipping the seller community with necessary tools. Embrace a "leader as a coach" philosophy to develop team capabilities and performance. Platform Improvement: Analyze current architecture and identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices in services platform architecture to enhance user experience for our global audience. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Master's preferred). 15+ years in engineering and leadership, with experience in managing multiple teams. Strong architectural skills with scalable, loosely coupled systems. Proven success in migrating monoliths to microservices. Full-stack development experience across modern stacks. Desired Qualifications

Expertise in Team Topologies and sociotechnical systems thinking. Experience in flow optimization using DORA and SPACE metrics. Dynamic reteaming experience to adapt to priorities. Experience leading large engineering organizations, managing ambiguity, and aligning efforts with business goals. Proficient in Federated GraphQL to drive efficient architectures with data fetching across multiple services. Strong understanding and implementation of Agile and Lean principles to foster continuous improvement and iterative development processes. Experience in managing remote and distributed teams, with the ability to effectively harness global talent while managing cultural and timezone differences. Experience with AI/Machine Learning solutions, capable of integrating AI/ML to enhance service platform capabilities and optimize user experiences without requiring advanced expertise. Why Join Us?

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $274,400 - $366,300 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
