Supply Chain Director

Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Director to join our team. The Supply Chain Director at Frazer serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership and is responsible for leading Planning, Purchasing, Distribution, Transportation, and Fleet operations across two manufacturing sites. This role drives sourcing strategy, supplier performance, logistics optimization, working capital improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, reliable operations and sustainable growth. What Does a Week in the Life of the Supply Chain Director Look Like? Leads Planning, Purchasing, Distribution, Transportation, and Fleet functions across two manufacturing sites while establishing KPIs that drive measurable improvement and accountability. Develops and executes sourcing, logistics, and inventory strategies that reduce total landed cost and improve working capital performance. Owns departmental operating and capital budgets including procurement savings, freight spend, and fleet costs. Analyzes demand forecasts, vendor lead times, price trends, freight options, and supplier performance to prevent stock outs and improve purchase price variance. Negotiates supplier agreements and maintains vendor scorecards. Improves planning accuracy for production and purchased materials while maintaining service levels for production and Service repair parts. Ensures inventory accuracy through disciplined warehouse processes and cycle counts. Oversees annual physical inventory and audit support. Ensures DOT compliance and regulatory adherence for transportation operations. Oversees full fleet lifecycle management including acquisition, maintenance, utilization, and replacement planning while optimizing freight strategy and carrier relationships. Leads continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations and develops risk mitigation and business continuity plans. Manages staffing, performance, training, and accountability of team members. Conducts daily huddles, verifies attendance, approves time records, and partners with HR on personnel matters. Mentors leaders on systems, processes, and performance expectations. Enforces safety policies, Lean 6S standards, and HSE coordination while proactively resolving internal and external customer concerns. Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Ability to pass a background check and drug test. 8+ years of progressive experience in purchasing and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. 5+ years of leadership experience managing purchasing, planning, logistics, transportation, fleet, or related supply chain functions. Demonstrated success driving cost reduction initiatives, improving purchase price variance, optimizing inventory turns, and improving supplier performance. Experience working within ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing setting. Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial performance metrics, and drive operational improvements. Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM (CPM/CPSM) certification. Experience overseeing fleet operations and DOT-regulated transportation environments. Skills (to Pay the Bills) Here's a list of a few competencies that the Supply Chain Director at Frazer should have Strategic supply chain leadership with the ability to design and execute long-term sourcing, logistics, inventory, and fleet strategies aligned with company growth and financial objectives. Strong financial and business acumen including budgeting, working capital management, purchase price variance, and total landed cost optimization. Advanced procurement and negotiation expertise with experience managing supplier contracts and performance scorecards. Deep knowledge of logistics operations, DOT compliance, fleet lifecycle management, and freight optimization strategies. Expertise in demand planning, MRP systems, and inventory control within a manufacturing environment. Operational excellence mindset with experience implementing Lean principles and KPI-driven performance management. Strong regulatory and compliance awareness including safety standards and audit requirements. Proven leadership and talent development skills with the ability to coach managers and build high-performing teams. Systems and data proficiency with strong ERP/MRP knowledge and analytical decision-making capability. Software Knowledge Also, here are a few software packages that the Supply Chain Director would eventually need to be versed in. Don't worry . . . we expect some on-the-job training. Work Schedule The Supply Chain Director will work Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed.
