Business Development & Marketing Specialist
Dykema Gossett PLLC, a leading national law firm, is recruiting for a Business Development and Marketing Specialist in our Dallas office. The Business Development and Marketing Specialist provides cross-functional support to the Litigation/White Collar practice while supporting the efforts of the Business Development and Marketing team. In addition to executing daily and strategic initiatives, the Specialist will also identify, participate in, and manage special projects to improve team effectiveness and pursue business development opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the development and maintenance of marketing materials, such as practice descriptions, pitch and presentation decks, brochures, attorney bios, client alerts, collateral, legal ranking submissions, and client success stories. Assist with the execution of a broad range of marketing and business development strategies, plans, and projects, including the tracking and follow-up of specific efforts. Respond to attorney requests for marketing materials and firm information, coordinating with business development and marketing managers as appropriate. Conduct research on clients, prospects, competitors, and industries in preparation for client meetings, RFP responses, and for targeting new business opportunities. Interpret various internal data sources, such as individual business development plans, new matters, financial data, success stories, and social media to uncover cross-selling and other business development opportunities. Assist in identifying and organizing profile-raising activities of the firm and its attorneys, such as events/webinars, sponsorships, media engagement, community involvement, conference involvement, rankings, and directories. In conjunction with teammates, participate in and coordinate special projects to improve department processes and information, create new business development and marketing tools and increase the team's value to the firm. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Minimum of 5 years business development or marketing experience in a professional services firm, preferably with litigation and white-collar practice knowledge. Bachelor's Degree preferred, or a comparable level of training such as that which may be acquired through additional work experience. Strong capabilities with research and analytical tools, Microsoft Office products and social media are required. Ability to think strategically, develop tactics and execute pragmatically all while managing competing priorities. A strong client service approach and team orientation. High level of detail orientation and accuracy. Project and team management experience, with a willingness to "roll up sleeves" and operate at whatever level is needed to accomplish tasks. Strong analytical and organizational skills with a tolerance for uncertainty and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision. Demonstrate good judgment, tact, professionalism, and flexibility. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Ability to take direction and receive and apply feedback.
