Student Worker-Admissions Ambassador

This position is in the Admissions Department and supports the administrative and student recruiting operations. Responsibilities and duties include handling routine office functions including answering phones, greeting visitors, and providing assistance as required; assisting with completion of forms; basic data entry; filing, copying, and scanning documents. Additionally, the role involves assisting in performing campus tours for prospective students and their families, assisting in the preparation and execution of special events, maintaining current knowledge of all University rules, regulations, and procedures, and assisting in dissemination of information about Florida Polytechnic University. Other duties as assigned may also be performed. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include knowledge of standard office machines and equipment, skill in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, skill in typing/word processing and use of personal computer/software, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Customer service skills and ability to work as a member of a team are also important. Minimum qualifications include being currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University, having a high school diploma or equivalent, and having a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.25 and having successfully completed 9 credits or more in the most recent fall or spring semester with a GPA of 2.0 or better. Preferred qualifications include having a valid driver's license. Required licenses, certifications, and/or other specific requirements of law include a criminal background check and compliance with federal and state privacy regulations. Expected starting salary is $14.25 hourly up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring terms as approved by supervisor. Application deadline date: The position is open until filled.
