The most winningest WNBA organization in league history, the three-time WNBA Champion Los Angeles Sparks seek PR & Communications interns for the 2026 WNBA season. This internship program is a hands‑on opportunity for students to build their work experience and learn the behind‑the‑scenes operations of a WNBA communications team. Interns will participate in all areas of media relations and the many facets of working for a professional sports team including creating and disseminating team press materials, liaising with sports media, community outreach, player appearances and external communications. This intern position will report to the PR & Communications Manager.
This is a non‑paid internship and is for individuals who will receive college credit.

Duties & Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
Support Sparks Media/Public Relations at home games for about six hours for each home game (arrive three hours before each game and work until about an hour after each game)
Label seats, post media seating charts and photo lane charts
Distribute media credentials, photo arm bands and other materials at media check‑in; collect photo arm bands after each game
Support pre‑ and post‑game press conferences, as well as other media availabilities
Facilitate media requests at shoot‑around and following each game
Print and distribute stat sheets
Post timing sheets on locker room doors and coaches’ offices
Print and bring game notes and stats to broadcasters, stats crew and coaches
Record and transcribe key quotes during pre‑game and post‑game media availabilities
Support the writing and editing of post‑game notes during each game
Answer questions from media members at games and direct them to full‑time staff for guidance
Provide written and editorial support on Game Notes
Write and edit articles for the Sparks website
Provide written and editorial support on press releases
Support credentialing
Create media seating charts and photo lane charts
Facilitate media scrums and interviews at practices, when needed
Track and compile media coverage
Qualifications & Preferred Experience
Must be enrolled in a college or university
Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree or are currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution
Must provide proof that you are eligible to receive college credit
Interest in sports public relations
Knowledge of basketball statistics and terminology
Strong work ethic
Positive attitude and a collaborative spirit
Receptive to learning with a growth mindset
Available to work all 22 regular‑season home games in 2026, plus preseason and postseason contests
Special Requirements
Reliable transportation; some use of personal vehicle or alternative source of transportation
Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays is a priority
Must be available for all 2026 Season – Los Angeles Sparks home games (includes pre‑ and postseason games)
Expected Availability
Game Days – up to 6 hours
Practice Days – up to 2 hours per week
Remote Days – up to 1 hour per week
