Responsibilities

Top level Civil designer, with 5+ years of experience

Performs non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions and under minimal supervision; considerable CADD skills are required to visualize and portray complex design features

May determine drawing sequence and presentation

Design of grading/drainage, water/wastewater systems, stormwater detention facilities

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, grading, alignments, profiles, corridors, earthwork, and experience with pipe networks, detention, storm sewer design

Has working knowledge of land development engineering criteria and understands agency requirements and approval process

Works closely with Project Managers; may recommend minor design changes requiring sound judgment and discretion and perform simple design calculations

Reviews work performed by CAD Technicians I and II before submitting to Project Engineer

May guide or be assisted by other technicians

Understanding of local and state agency codes and ordinances relevant to the construction plan approval

Prepare cost and quantity estimates

Job Requirements

Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D is a must

Should have working knowledge of CAD manual drafting techniques and CAD standards

Knowledge of construction plan preparation for land and /or site development projects

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Works well in a team oriented environment
