Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic
Produce Clerk - Cut Fruit
to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with fresh products and takes pride in preparing high-quality, ready-to-eat fruit offerings. You'll play a key part in delivering fresh, visually appealing products while providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Prepare fresh-cut fruit, fruit bowls, and specialty items according to company standards Wash, peel, slice, and package fruits while maintaining quality and consistency Ensure all products are properly labeled, weighed, and priced Maintain proper rotation, freshness, and shrink control within the department Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized Stock and replenish displays to ensure an attractive and full presentation Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management Provide friendly and helpful customer service, answering questions and assisting with selections Assist in general produce department duties as needed Qualifications & Skills Basic knife skills and ability to safely handle food preparation tools Knowledge of fresh produce and proper handling techniques preferred Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs as needed Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment Repetitive motion including cutting, lifting, and packaging Experience & Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in food prep, grocery, or produce department is a plus Food safety certification is a plus (if applicable) What We Offer Competitive pay Flexible scheduling Medical, Dental, and Vision 401(k) Plan 50% Lunch Discount 25% In-Store Shopping Discount Opportunities for growth within the company
