Nevada State University invites applications for the position of 1000 Hour Appointment - Marketing & Events - Event Coordinator. The 1000 hour appointment will serve as a liaison for internal events, providing logistical coordination of the university’s special event venues. This position will be responsible for developing and distributing content for the events calendar and website.* Coordinating event logistics and planning.* Reviewing event requests and communicating event details and procedures to stakeholders and support partners.* Designing setup diagrams and serving as point of contact for vendors and equipment providers.* Coordinating with facilities and information technology to ensure services are provided.* Providing on-site, day-of event support.* Managing the university’s events calendar and developing web content.* Producing special projects, reports, and presentations.* Supporting equipment and supply inventory tracking and maintenance.* Serving on signature event planning committees as assigned.* Other duties as assigned.* Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.* Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.* Highly developed organizational and leadership skills. Effective interpersonal skills to ensure good working relationships.* Flexible availability to work occasional early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.* Experience with technology including room scheduling software, room diagramming software and Microsoft Office Suite.* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).* Experience in higher education in an event-related area.* Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in special events.* Facility scheduling/coordination experience.* Experience with 25Live room scheduling software, Social Tables room diagramming software and Canva.* Detailed resume listing relevant qualifications and experience;* Cover Letter indicating why you are a good fit for the position and Nevada State University;* Names and contact information of three references (you will be notified before references are contacted).Having been established in 2002, Nevada State University places a special emphasis on the advancement of a diverse and largely underserved student population.
