Senior Ops Lead — Build a €100M Revenue Vertical in Berlin

Buena makes everything real estate as simple and transparent as buying an ETF whether it's finding, buying, or financing an apartment. We acquire property managers across Germany and turn them into technology companies. In two years, we've become Germany's third-largest property manager with less than 25 full-time members at HQ. Forget the title. If you're here for the title, leave now. We're recruiting a final senior operator for our five-person core ops team who gets their hands dirty, builds processes, and enables us to scale. We are looking for someone with the grit to build a €100M vertical from scratch.

Your first week at Buena

"Here's your laptop; I've assigned you a Linear project where you'll find everything you need to get started." You spend about 30 minutes reading everything you need to know beforehand. "Your first two companies are our new portfolio companies in Magdeburg and Hamburg. This afternoon, you'll have an initial call with each team lead." You go through the Buena software and review onboarding documents — introductions to property management, our software, and materials from the last two board meetings. You talk with Maria, the Hamburg team lead. She introduces her team of 8 employees. You discuss the software currently in use and plan to meet in person tomorrow. She asks if our software can generate reports — a major owner with 340 units receives a monthly report currently built in Excel, taking half a workday each month. You request a sample. We love having lunch together. You speak with Jakob, our Product Manager, about the report feature. Together you scope it out: two days of development to make it one-click. You drive it from idea to deployment plan. You talk with Markus, the Magdeburg team lead. He needs help with recruiting — new units were recently added. You coordinate with Anna, our recruiter. The posting is live, 10 candidates already contacted. You plan to conduct initial interviews on-site. You book transport and hotels: two days Hamburg, two days Magdeburg. You receive the financial data for your two companies. Combined revenue: €1.2 million annually. Your task: increase the margin from 4% to 35% through the integration of Buena software and growth in units. You grab some food with the ops team downstairs. You go over the import template — a .csv file to migrate master data into Buena. You walk eight minutes home to pack. Tomorrow: Hamburg.

What you'll do

Conceptualize and build an entire new revenue vertical for Buena from the ground up. Drive the expansion of new geographical regions. Spend a ton of time with our PortCo MDs in cities like Duisburg, Düren, or Iffeldorf. Integrate portfolio companies and turn them into scalable technology entities. Lead recruitment for your verticals and motivate teams to hit ambitious goals. Take features from idea through deployment to rollout across all portcos. Your trajectory

Phase 1

- Integrate. Onboard 5–8 portfolio companies. Build the playbook. Move margin from single digits to 35%+. Make yourself replaceable in this phase. Phase 2

- Build a vertical. Launch a new revenue line — insurance, brokerage, banking. Negotiate directly with industry leaders. Test with your portcos, integrate into the product, roll out across all of Buena. Phase 3

- Lead at scale. As Buena grows to €100M+ in revenue, you continue to report directly to the Leadership Team. Or secure their angel investment for your own startup. #PayPalMafia

Work directly with the Leadership Team

Your direct supervisor has the autonomy to approve everything and empower you to act quickly. No layers. No sign-off chains. Ask any Head of Operations about how budgets work here.

What we're looking for

Native-level German (C2). A strong desire to work in-person at the office. Proven track record of designing and implementing effective systems — people, processes, anything. High intellectual ability and strong interpersonal skills. Extreme ambition to build a category-defining company.
