Assistant Advocacy Center Director
A New Leaf - CAAFA, Gilbert, AZ, United States
The Town of Gilbert is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to serve as the
Assistant Advocacy Center Director
for the Gilbert Advocacy Center. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of victim services in one of Arizona's most dynamic and fastest-growing communities. As a senior leader within the Advocacy Center, you will drive day-to-day operations, champion trauma-informed care, and build meaningful partnerships that make Gilbert a safer, more supportive place for those who need it most.
You will provide senior-level leadership and operational oversight for the Gilbert Advocacy Center, working closely with the Director and senior Police Department leadership to deliver exceptional victim support services. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading with purpose
— Supervising and mentoring the Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator, Counseling Managers, and Victim Services Coordinator, while fostering a culture of wellness and resilience
Driving best practices
— Developing and implementing support service frameworks and SOPs aligned with National Children's Alliance (NCA) accreditation standards and Gilbert's vision and values
Building partnerships
— Cultivating collaborative relationships with law enforcement, prosecutors, courts, healthcare providers, and social service agencies
Strengthening programs
— Assisting in the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive victim advocacy programs and services
Managing operations
— Overseeing scheduling, resource allocation, facility operations, data collection, and outcome measurement
Advancing the mission
— Identifying service gaps, recommending new initiatives, and supporting fundraising and community outreach efforts
Ensuring accountability
— Assisting with budget planning and monitoring, and maintaining documentation for audits and site visits
You lead with both head and heart. You bring deep expertise in victim advocacy and trauma-informed care and know how to translate that into strong teams, effective systems, and real outcomes for survivors. You're equally comfortable mentoring staff through a complex case and collaborating with law enforcement leadership — and you're energized by building something meaningful alongside a mission-driven team. You don't need the spotlight. You need purpose.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field
5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
5+ years of experience in victim services, social work, grant management, or a related field
Experience in a victim advocacy center preferred
