Job Summary:

The Director of Leasing plans, organizes directs and controls operations and personnel in support of accomplishing company objectives. This position interacts with all lease and rental management to maintain profitable and efficient operations in each location. Works with managers and staff to establish consistent and effective policies and procedures for the lease and rental business. Conduct evaluations of locations to ensure results are consistent with company strategy and annual business plan objectives.

Essential Functions:

Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.

Assist in management and control of overheads and operational expenses of multiple locations

Manage the unit profitability of the fleet, unit by unit

Manage and review the maintenance costs of each unit

Manage the rental utilization to ensure we are maximizing our investment in our rolling stock assets

Manage Best Practice operational targets as set by Summit management and Idealease

Develop and implement a Lease and Rental operating plan

Review the operations for each Lease and Rental branch to include daily procedures, rental marketing, rental administration, invoicing, and overall performance

Review the service department and determine structure and effective customer approach within the dealership or as a stand‑alone

Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing customers

Assist with the collection of delinquent accounts

Support Lease and Rental operations and management

Monitor fleet activity- review and focus on under‑utilized equipment

Communicate with Service Managers to ensure equipment is maintained according to company standards and DOT regulations

Maintain policies and procedures for Lease and Rental operations; check‑in/check‑out of equipment, customer files, billing, etc.

Analyze branch income statement(s) for areas of improvement and overall financial strength

Create an assessment and plan for specific changes and performance improvements that need to be implemented to improve profit and overall results for each location

Support and assist all areas to drive consistency and effective operations in all Lease and Rental operations.

Create and deliver training programs as needed for branches and staffs

Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to analyze results and implement process improvements

Knowledge of financial accounting, sales and legal information including state and federal regulations

Ability to deal effectively, listen and communicate with all customers and co‑workers

DOT knowledge

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Skills in computer operation and various business applications

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma and/or GED is required.

Minimum 7 years of experience managing large volume leasing and rental operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directs and manages the Leasing and Rental Division Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Physical Requirements:

Mobility of walking, standing, and bending is frequent.

Dexterity, hearing and talking requirements are constant.

Visual ability to detect situations of concern is constant.

The employee will occasionally lift to and over 50 pounds.

Must be able to meet the public and make decisions.

Exposure to heat, cold, dust and dirt.

The position is in the office environment, as well as duties performed outside.
