Angiocchi Consulting is proud to partner with our client, Naturepedic, in the search for a Director of Manufacturing to lead and elevate all facets of operations across a rapidly scaling organization. In this high‑impact role, you’ll oversee manufacturing, supply chain and procurement, warehousing, shipping and logistics, and quality control - driving the systems, processes, and performance standards that enable sustainable growth.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer and collaborating closely with cross‑functional leaders, you’ll shape operational strategy, champion continuous improvement, and ensure the consistent delivery of high‑quality products with speed, precision, and efficiency.

NOTE: This is a full-time, on site role based in the Chagrin Fall, OH.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Manufacturing will direct and oversee operations activities for our operations team, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Procurement, Warehousing, Shipping and Logistics, and Quality Control. In this capacity, you will lead a management-level staff developing measurable strategic objectives and implementing continual improvement processes and cost-efficiency initiatives to meet the needs of a rapidly scaling organization. Your duties will center on making plans for company growth, while building a culture of performance excellence, quality, continuous improvement, and rapid delivery of high-quality products. This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and departments will be crucial to align operational strategies with overall company objectives.

This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and requires the ability to transform operations data into actionable metrics and KPI's. You will need demonstrated proficiency with common data and document tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and ERP systems such as NetSuite, which you will be using. This is a fast-paced position that requires self-management and the ability to rapidly adapt to changing business needs. Making data driven decisions in a rapidly changing environment is an essential part of the job.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all areas of manufacturing, including production and planning, supply chain and procurement, warehousing, shipping and logistics, manufacturing engineering, and quality and safety; all relating to the operations of the production departments
  • Oversee facility operations, including maintenance, security, and infrastructure upgrades, to support a safe and efficient workplace environment
  • Direct manufacturing workflows and help develop and maintain documented, repeatable, and standardized processes so that all manufactured products are produced within quality standards and cost objectives
  • Establish policies, programs, and procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations, quality, and safety
  • Scale operations while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Assist company officers and senior staff members in the development of long and short-term plans and goals. Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure fiscal responsibility to optimize cost structure and financial performance
  • Evaluate and develop objectives for production management, and direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures
  • Develop the annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly manufacturing plans and schedules, and review manpower levels and assignments based on projected volume to ensure that staffing levels sets are appropriately
  • Act as liaison between department management and executive management, and prepare and present operational performance reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales & marketing and finance, to align operational strategies with overall business objectives and promote interdepartmental coordination
  • Hire and develop team members, identifying those with leadership potential, ensure an engaged and skilled workforce, and conduct performance reviews
  • Develop incentive programs that achieve optimum employee performance, and develop and lead team building with effective employee relations, hiring, and training to drive a strategic vision
  • Utilize financial data to improve profitability, control inventory, and plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company. Promote the utilization of statistical and process visual measurements to manage the operation
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive operational excellence initiatives
  • Assure appropriate use of the Company’s NetSuite ERP system
  • Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance to optimize procurement costs and ensure quality and timely delivery of goods and services
  • Develop inventory control strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and ensure availability of materials to support production schedules
  • Implement risk assessment and mitigation strategies to safeguard operations from potential disruptions and ensure business continuity, including contingency plans and response protocols to effectively manage operational crisis such as supply chain disruptions or facility emergencies
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, and identify, recommend, and implement changes for cost improvement through increased productivity and reduced labor and material waste
  • Manage all activities for continuous improvement (Kaizen Technique) and performance enhancement, and champion lean manufacturing practices
  • Ensures compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety guidelines across all operational activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree OR the equivalent technical field / operations management experience - required
  • Six to Ten years of manufacturing management experience - required
  • Five plus years of supervisory experience - required
  • Prior experience managing a sewn goods facility - preferred
  • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes and principles - experience in NetSuite - preferred
  • Certified to Six Sigma Black Belt - preferred

  • Extensive knowledge in ERP and MRP is required including scheduling, capacity planning, and lead time reduction methodologies
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing - theoretical and practical experience in implementing lead manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques such as 5S/6S, Quality, GEMBA, Kaizen, VSM, etc.
  • Managing manufacturing budgets - managing to forecast and having a tight control of operating expenses and operating metrics to provide visibility into EBITDA and cash flow performance
  • Ability to travel local, nationally and internationally
