Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources or above, the Human Resources Specialist provides professional human resources support to Human Resources and coordination in core areas of employee-labor relations, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, employee training and development, and project management. In conjunction with JHHS Human Resources, provides services to support the implementation and management of human resources programs and initiatives, and to resolve human resources-related issues at the department level. Serves as liaison between the department and JHHS Human Resources. Employee Labor Relations
— Serves as a resource and support for Human Resources regarding employee relations issues, policy interpretation, and grievances. Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and practices. Knowledge of Joint Commission HR standards, HR and payroll processes (including career services, compensation, benefits, pension, employee labor relations, EEO and affirmative action, training and development, record keeping, and compliance). Working knowledge of applicable Federal and State labor and employment laws and regulations. Disseminates information and coordinates communication to staff and management about policies and programs such as workplace violence, sexual harassment, and affirmative action. Serves as either the first point of contact or liaison to HR for employee relations issues, and partners with JHHS HR to resolve issues or formal grievances. Conducts exit interviews; analyzes and trends data, and recommends appropriate actions, plans, and/or programs to Human Resources. Training and Employee Development
— Partners with Training Department and JHHS HR ODT to deliver departmental training and employee development initiatives. Coordinates training opportunities and facilitates departmental scheduling/coverage to enable employee attendance at training and development sessions. Coordinates and acts as departmental Service Excellence representative. Administration and Special Projects
— Participates in HR team projects to effectively integrate and develop HR processes, programs, and practices into business operations. Represents the department on HR-related committees and organization-wide HR initiatives. Maintains department reports; supports HR through IT applications such as the HR Acuity program. Processes HR forms; enters information into HR systems. Participates in grievances as needed, such as preparation, communication, and scheduling. Education And Work Experience
Requires a
Bachelor's Degree
in Human Resources, Business, or related field. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience, or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education. SHRM-SCP or equivalent HR certification is helpful. Up to
two (2) years
of progressive HR experience.
Experience In Healthcare/customer-intensive Environment Preferred. Salary
Salary Range:
