CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing To develop and execute highly-customized commodities transactions for CIBC’s corporate clients (including financial institutions). These transactions will be structured to achieve specific client objectives including price risk management, cost minimization, favorable capital, tax and credit ratings treatments, and active balance sheet management. Transactions may carry elements of commodities, debt, securitization and derivatives. Specific experience working on commodities structured credit opportunities with both metals and energy knowledge preferred. As well be responsible for mobilizing the team and bringing together a deal to build transaction ideas for each client. Who You Are Responsible for helping with the growth of the desk’s strategy and effortsby preparing pitch books, credit memos, financial models, reviewing and negotiating legal documentation, and perform credit analysis on commodities transactions.

Initiate and manage the execution of structured transactions, evaluating and prioritizing transactions based on the rate of return on regulatory capital, probability of closing, ease of repeat transactions, and number of potential alternative applications.

Monitor competitor activities, market conditions and report significant developments to relevant stakeholders

Partnerwith internal and external clients to understand their objectives, identify and analyze the risks they face

Work in tandem with corporate solutions group, corporate banking, and investment banking to identify specific client needs and opportunities and to build sector strategies.

Improve CIBC’s ability to quickly respond to opportunities by developing transaction templates and seeking internal approvals for transactions, freeing marketers from labor-intensive product development responsibilities.

Work effectively within CIBC’s corporate governance practices and policies (Risk Management, Finance, HR, Legal and Compliance) to ensure compliance with CIBC’s Governance and Control Framework and regulatory requirements.

This role has an expected salary of $150,000 for the Houston, TX market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
