Job Description:
The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that is integral to delivering TD’s Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist Customers with their banking solutions/needs. This role contributes to the achievement of business objectives that enable growth through identifying appropriate TD solutions that help Customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD.
Responsibilities (Depth & Scope)
Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to identify opportunities to educate on Bank products and services or refer Customers to appropriate team members, while ensuring a positive Customer experience.
Maintain broad knowledge of the full product suite, services and processes of the business area; operate with low to moderate complexity/risk.
Establish and nurture Customer relationships by displaying product knowledge, actively listening to Customer needs, and offering solutions or referrals.
Make product recommendations based on Customer needs, highlighting features and benefits that support Customers through various life events and help them save time and money.
Use Customer relationship management tools to support customer assessments, identify solutions, and participate in lead-focused outbound activities.
Independently resolve customer issues and escalate when necessary.
Build working relationships with customers and explain detailed or complex information.
Perform a range of activities through appropriate training.
Participate in Customer outreach, servicing and advisory activities to deliver TD’s unexpectedly human promise.
Engage in conversations about loan products and facilitate application intake.
Maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
Qualifications (Education & Experience)
HS Diploma or GED
1+ years' experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity, or equivalent via volunteering, education, or military experience (preferred)
Teller experience preferred
Must complete teller training upon hire to handle customer transactions
Demonstrated ability to engage customers while educating them on products and services
Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills; concise, clear and consistent
Ability to schedule and prioritize work; work independently and meet deadlines
Sound judgment and effective problem solving
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Notary License (Preferred)

May assist as a point of escalation for customer questions or concerns

Consider the impact of decisions on TD, customers and stakeholders
Acts as a brand champion internally and externally
Educates clients on self-service channels including digital options

Continuously enhances knowledge and participates in knowledge transfer
