IN SUMMARY...

The Patient Relations Specialist is essential to the RCM department, facilitating seamless communication between patients and the healthcare facility while managing both financial and customer service concerns. Their role ensures a positive patient experience while supporting the efficient flow of revenue cycle operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO...

Responsible for delivery of excellent customer service to the patients of Azalea RCM Clients.

Explains insurance processing and the revenue cycle of claims to patients to help them better understand any outstanding patient responsibility amounts due to Azalea RCM Clients

Responsible for all inbound RCM-related patient telephone coverage during regular business hours with quick turnaround time responses for voice messages left after hours

Thoroughly verifies identity of persons calling requesting information, maintaining HIPAA compliance and only giving information to those individuals with proper access

Manages patient statement processing and bad debt collections processes for assigned accounts as directed by RCM Account Coordinators.

Preparing and submitting documentation (ledgers, patient statements, medical records) on behalf of Azalea RCM Client's patients as requested from approved parties

Completes various tasks related to our Revenue Cycle Management service, including: general data entry into web-based software/applications, medical claim generation and submission, insurance and patient payment processing, report creation and analysis

Responsible for other administrative duties including not limited to: inbound/outbound mail processing, filing, answering phones, faxing, copying, scanning, etc.

Demonstrates a good working knowledge of CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS codes as well as remaining current on regulatory coding changes.

Maintains HIPAA compliance when handling patient protected health information (PHI)

Responsible for other Revenue Cycle Management-related duties, as assigned.
