Overview
Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
— Join Our Team to design and implement personalized recreational therapy interventions for individuals with diverse needs, both at home and in the community.
Location: Multiple Locations throughout Northern Virginia. Schedule: Monday–Friday; varies (some weekend hours as needed with flex day options!). Hourly Compensation: $25.

Responsibilities
Make an impact by helping improve the functioning of individuals facing physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and developmental challenges.
Identify strengths and preferences, creating tailored support plans that drive meaningful outcomes.
Implement interventions based on individual interests in various settings, ensuring adaptations for success.
Track progress by evaluating advancements toward recreational therapy goals and documenting observations.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to the person-centered planning process.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy/Therapeutic Recreation.
Certification: National Certification (CTRS) or ability to test within 6 months.
Experience: At least one year working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, with a solid understanding of high-intensity behavioral supports.
Driver's License: Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk, stand, and lift up to 70 pounds.
Ability to execute physical intervention techniques with agility.
