Position Summary: This is a strategic sales position requiring in-depth knowledge of how technology is used to enable business goals or overcome business challenges. The role requires strategic thinking and planning coupled with tactical execution of identified business opportunities. Responsibilities include managing all facets of the relationship with named or large key accounts and ensuring revenue goals are met, maintaining contact at relevant levels within the accounts, and building and maintaining relationships across the organization. You will develop opportunities across the F5 solution portfolio and sell solutions and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence and build trusting relationships. You will partner with Systems Integrators, large Service Providers, and regional VARs as needed. This is typically an individual contributor role and is a quota carrying position. Responsibilities
Primary point-of-contact for major account(s) regardless of geographic location, maintaining contact with the account at an executive level and focusing on the strategic nature of the relationship. Sell the organization’s products or services to and manage relationships with existing national named accounts; rapidly grow and retain named accounts while ensuring ongoing customer service. Identify and qualify long-term and short-term business opportunities and actively identify and address competitive threats. Prepare formal proposals and presentations, present to all levels including executives, lead negotiations, coordinate complex decision-making processes, overcome objections, and close sales professionally and effectively. Manage significant key partner relationships and development; facilitate executive-level relationships between the customer, F5, and partners, and maintain ongoing communication on strategic and tactical issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technical developments, and regulations affecting target markets. Understand the organization’s business needs and communicate how F5’s solutions address those needs. Research and develop lists of potential customers, follow up on leads, and work to close deals. Coordinate account strategy and tactics for the sales support team (inside sales, systems engineering, sales management) as needed. Ensure accurate sales forecasting by understanding the sales cycle from initial contact through procurement; ensure Salesforce is used and maintained. Develop and maintain detailed account profiles for quarterly management review. Develop strategies for sustained management and success of business and coordinate resources to meet goals. Collaborate with internal and external teams and channels to develop technical solutions that enhance F5’s footprint and customer outcomes. Travel up to 50% via automobile and airplane; may be on call periodically and work outside normal hours as needed. Qualifications
8+ years of direct work experience in a relevant account management environment. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
