Overview
The starting pay range for this position per hour is $21.25 - $23.25. The full pay range for this position per hour is $21.25 - $36.15. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets and, in some instances, education, work experience and certifications. Responsibilities
As an Assets Protection Team Leader, typical duties include leading a security culture, crisis response, safety environment and crowd management planning, providing support to guests and team members.
Implementing daily/weekly AP workload priorities to support business priorities and deliver on goals.
Responding to external and internal theft incidents and preventing future theft.
Implementing strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehending individuals in accordance with Target policy and leadership guidance.
Partnering, educating and supporting store business leaders on operational shortage priorities.
Leading a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, evaluating and retaining talent.
Delivering guest experience commitments and ensuring team members are trained to meet Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
Observing and providing feedback, coaching accountability, recognizing strong guest experiences, and driving results.
Monitoring area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities and improve performance.
Ensuring products are in stock and available to guests, welcoming and engaging guests at the front of the store and on the salesfloor.
Influencing and validating physical security and safety processes; participating in store response and emergency crisis situations; creating security plans for in-store events.
Educating teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures.
Developing, coaching and leading team members to elevate their skills per direction from the direct leader.
Anticipating staffing needs and supporting talent planning within a culture of accountability.
Identifying theft and shortage trends and developing tactics to reduce shortage and drive profitable sales.
Working a schedule aligned to guest and business needs, including early morning/overnight shifts, evenings and weekends.
Managing budgets for merchandise protection and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Communicating AP priorities to the team, peers and leadership; building trust and accountability with leaders and Store Director.
Maintaining relationships with district/store leaders and law enforcement; collaborating with partners to enhance security for guests and team members.
Evaluating and recommending candidates for open positions and supporting onboarding and learning to close knowledge gaps.
Exercising ethical conduct and compliance; holding the team to those standards.
Serving as first responder for in-store safety incidents and executing Target's procedures and best practices.
Leading safety program management routines and participating in legal proceedings as necessary; modeling best practices for security processes.
Supporting merchandise protection strategies across the total store, including storage and application as directed by best practices.
Addressing store needs (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.).
All other duties as needed based on business requirements.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
Previous retail and/or loss prevention experience preferred, but not required
Ability to lead and hold others accountable
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed
Work independently and as part of a team; manage workload and prioritize tasks
Welcoming and helpful attitude; effective communication skills
