Education Level4 Year Degree## Description**Instructional Designer****Job Description****Department:** Knowledge Management**Job Status:** Full-Time**FLSA Status:** Salary**-**Exempt**Reports To:** Director of Knowledge Management**Location:** The Woodlands, TX**Amount of Travel Required:** Less than 5%**Work Schedule:** Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.**Positions Supervised:** n/a**AIP:** Level 7**POSITION SUMMARY:**The Instructional Designer is responsible for creating engaging, effective, and learner-centered instructional materials and experiences. This role involves analyzing learning needs, designing curriculum, developing content, and leveraging technology to deliver impactful training solutions that align with organizational goals.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")* **Needs Analysis:** Conduct assessments to identify learning gaps and performance improvement opportunities.* **Curriculum Design:** Develop instructional strategies, learning objectives, and course outlines for various delivery methods (e-learning, instructor-led, blended).* **Content Development:** Create high-quality learning materials, including storyboards, scripts, multimedia assets, and assessments.* **Technology Integration:** Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to deliver courses.* **Evaluation:** Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and implement evaluation methods (Kirkpatrick levels) to measure effectiveness.* **Collaboration:** Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.* **Continuous Improvement:** Stay current with trends in instructional design, adult learning theory, and emerging technologies.* Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred). **Experience:** 3+ years in instructional design or learning development. **Preferred:** Experience with video production, graphic design, and gamification strategies.Frequently required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, and squat/kneel. The Instructional Designer works primarily indoors and will be sitting for prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

The Instructional Designer may be required to lift heavy objects; therefore, the Instructional Designer must be able to lift 25lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
