Overview
The Corporate & Community Relations Manager is an outward-facing leadership role responsible for developing, stewarding, and expanding Star Gospel Mission’s corporate, civic, church, and community partnerships. This position serves as a primary ambassador to the business and philanthropic community, ensuring the Mission is strategically connected to corporations, foundations, employers, and civic leaders. Working closely with the Development Officer, this role focuses on long-term institutional relationships that advance corporate giving, sponsorships, employee engagement, volunteerism, workforce partnerships, community, and Kingdom collaboration aligned with the Mission’s Christ-centered work and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities Corporate & Business Relations Responsibilities: (45%)
Develop and manage a portfolio of corporate, institutional, and church relationships, including corporate and faith-based foundations, CSR leaders, HR teams, and executive leadership.
Cultivate partnerships with major employers such as Boeing, Greystar, and other regional and national firms aligned with the Mission’s values, securing multi-year, institutional commitments.
Design and oversee corporate engagement pathways, including sponsorships, employee volunteer days, in-kind contributions, and philanthropic partnerships.
Coordinate Mission tours, executive briefings, and on-site engagements for corporate partners.
Community & Civic Relations Responsibilities: (35%)
Represent Star Gospel Mission within the broader civic, nonprofit, faith-based, and public-private ecosystem, serving as a trusted external representative of the Mission’s programs, impact, and values.
Build relationships with community leaders, foundations, and intermediaries that influence funding, collaboration, and public trust.
Participate in chambers of commerce, coalitions, and convenings to strengthen the Mission’s visibility and influence.
Strategic Coordination & Internal Alignment: (20%)
Align and coordinate with Development, Programs, and Communications to ensure corporate and community relationships support Mission capacity and strategic goals.
Prepare and deliver briefings, talking points, presentations, and reports for corporate, foundation, and civic audiences.
Manage and track partnership activity, engagement metrics, and participation in events, campaigns, and initiatives involving corporate and community partners.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, or Nonprofit Management preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate relations, community engagement, development, or partnership management.
Proven ability to build and steward high-level professional relationships.
Strong public-facing communication skills and executive presence.
Demonstrated alignment with faith-based, mission-driven work.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid State Driver's License; Christian ministry credentials/experience helpful

Physical Requirements Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to speak and read the English language. Ability to sit, walk, and stand on a frequent basis in order to perform the duties of this position. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Ability to travel throughout the Tri-County area on a regular basis to work with donors/prospects, and professionals in their communities.
Working Conditions Work is typically performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
