Overview The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to A Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission: the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol.
Duties And Responsibilities The incumbent will be authorized to key in data on the Florida Real-time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS) and/or Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION) computer terminals or a personal computer to issue titles and to update, reinstate, junk and cancel vehicle title records. The incumbent will also review submitted applications and titles to ensure proper information has been entered and proper signatures are on submitted documentation, duplicate title applications and all high volume and lien satisfaction transactions. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Skill in typing and performing data entry.
Ability to multi-task and organize work assignments.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to operate general office equipment to include a personal computer, copier, fax and scanner.
Skill in reviewing and verifying data for accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
Experience using the Florida Real-time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS).
Experience using the Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION).
Experience Using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to prepare written correspondence such as emails, memos, letters, spreadsheets, and/or reports.
Experience performing data entry or maintaining electronic databases.
Experience composing correspondence such as letters, memos, reports or emails.
Experience providing customer service.
General Information
The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
