This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-visibility surveillance leadership role where you’ll shape tooling, workflows, and detection logic—not just maintain existing compliance processes. If you enjoy working at the intersection of markets, data, and regulatory technology, this role gives you ownership of the surveillance ecosystem supporting a modern exchange environment. What You’ll Do
This role sits at the center of trading oversight and platform trust. You’ll operate as the primary surveillance platform expert while helping lead investigations and mentor analysts. Key responsibilities include: Execute real-time trade surveillance monitoring to detect spoofing, wash trading, manipulation, and other market abuse signals Serve as the primary administrator and power user of Eventus Validus Support migration and optimization efforts from Scilla → Eventus Tune surveillance logic and alerts to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy Lead investigations into suspicious trading activity and document findings Monitor margin exposure, position limits, and settlement integrity risks Support regulatory reporting obligations for CFTC and NFA Act as a technical SME during regulatory audits and examinations Maintain surveillance policies, procedures, and audit trails Mentor and support a small team of surveillance analysts (1–2 direct reports) Help shape surveillance processes in a scaling exchange environment What Makes This Role Different

Hands-on experience with Eventus Validus 3 years working within a CFTC-regulated entity (DCM, DCO, SEF, or FCM) Experience conducting trade surveillance investigations Understanding of market manipulation patterns (spoofing, wash trading, layering) Experience supporting regulatory reporting workflows Familiarity with Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) principles Bonus Skills
Experience with Scilla Series 3 license SQL or data visualization exposure Experience supporting regulatory exams Ideal Background
