Account Director, Healthcare PR Job at Real Staffing in New York

A boutique, high growth PR agency in New York City is seeking an experienced Account Director to join their team. This person will lead several key healthcare accounts across consumer health, wellness, and B2B healthcare, while also contributing to the growth and mentorship of the expanding team.

What You\'ll Do

• Serve as day to day strategic lead across multiple healthcare accounts (consumer health, wellness, medical technology, B2B healthcare, etc.).
• Develop and drive integrated PR strategies, narrative development, and earned media programs.
• Manage client relationships with senior level stakeholders and ensure consistent delivery of high quality work.
• Oversee account teams, providing direction, structure, and mentorship to junior and mid‑level staff.
• Pitch and secure meaningful coverage through established relationships with healthcare, consumer health, lifestyle, and business media.
• Manage budgets, account staffing, timelines, and overall client satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with agency leadership on growth planning, new business, and thought leadership opportunities.
• Bring a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset to a fast‑moving boutique environment — comfortable rolling up your sleeves as needed.

What We\'re Looking For

• Must-have: Proven healthcare PR experience, ideally with consumer healthcare brands (OTC, wellness, medical devices, digital health, etc.).
• A mix of consumer + B2B healthcare experience is welcome.
• Established healthcare media relationships across top-tier, trade, and consumer outlets.
• Background in a boutique or small/mid-sized PR agency is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to balance and lead multiple accounts simultaneously is essential.
• 7-10+ years of PR agency experience with a track record of leading strategy and client relationships.
• Strong writing, strategic thinking, and team leadership skills.
• Comfortable in a hybrid environment with high visibility to senior leadership.
• Thrives in a collaborative, nimble agency culture where everyone contributes.
