Overview
Field Representative I, Fulfillment POSITION PROFILE Provides operations functions in a fulfillment center for one or more areas: operates high volume continuous feed or cut sheet printing equipment to produce large volume print jobs on a previously calibrated machine, performs associated inserting tasks using high speed commercial inserters, performs associated copying tasks, ships and receives product and supplies, sorts, distributes and handles incoming and outgoing mail/faxes, as well as applies necessary postage. Provides copier maintenance and/or repair of site equipment. May also perform bindery, QC and final check, housekeeping, file services, call center representative, and reception, etc. May perform various building support functions related to meeting setups. Will also perform white glove mail piece handling that requires a very detailed approach to assembling individual mail pieces from large volume print runs that require sorting and inserting mail pieces by hand for mailing through the USPS process. This position operates in a multi-shift environment and can include weekends.
Responsibilities
Runs high volume printing equipment, which may include high production in a mechanically sophisticated print environment and performs binding and finishing work.
Sets up and runs all applications on all equipment where applicable.
Ensures convenience copiers are working properly, checks quality via daily inspections, clears paper jams, and informs technicians of specific problems.
Maintains records for management reports and inventories of supplies needed.
Distributes office supplies, fax transmissions and mail to personnel and/or designated drop-off points.
Calculates charges for jobs performed and maintains billing logs.
Responds to and coordinates service calls required by technicians.
May perform filing duties in conjunction with specific customer requests.
Delivers completed jobs to pre-determined customer locations within and outside of the site.
Maintains daily meter and service logs.
Answers customer questions regarding status or feasibility of job requests.
Ensures upkeep of all workstation areas and sorting stations by keeping neat and well stocked.
Performs duties related to the shipping and receiving of materials.
May perform meeting room and conference room setups.
May perform light maintenance duties as assigned.
May perform occasional cleaning duties as needed.
May require periodic overtime on nights and weekends, including off-hour emergency response.
Uses equipment such as shrink-wrap machine, paper cutter, hole driller, bindery equipment, jogger, tape machine, stackers, electric stapler and scales to complete jobs.
Uses copier equipment, calculator, fax machine, postage meter and some PC.
Performs filing duties, which may include purging and archiving old documents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)
Requires high school diploma or GED and 2-3 years of related work experience.
Some related copy job experience, preferably in a high production, mechanically sophisticated print environment, is preferred.
Requires valid driver's license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage per policy.
Requires ability to learn complex production and/or communication systems, such as client-specific mainframe applications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of copier and related equipment and repair is preferred.
Requires knowledge and understanding of shipping/receiving procedures.
Basic electronics knowledge is preferred.
Ability to work independently and flexibly to complete projects.
Ability to determine correct method and packing material and verify packing slips for incoming materials.
Ability to comprehend instructions concerning mail delivery.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and comprehend written technical information in manuals, parts books and related publications.
Excellent customer relations and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands
Requires frequent exposure to copier/fax noise, toner, and temperature changes; may be exposed to frequent paper cuts.
Exposure to various weather conditions when walking between buildings; equipment locations may present risks.
Daily contact with customers, employees, managers, and Dispatch; occasional contact with vendors and repair personnel.
High stress due to tight deadlines and quick turnaround times.
Physical effort may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving machines up to 400 lbs on wheels; walking between buildings may be necessary.
