Counter Representative
American Welding & Gas, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Counter Representative in our Wausau, WI location.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with ordering and purchasing products (industrial, medical, food grade, specialty gases along with welding/industrial supplies). Performing material handling functions within the branches.
Responsibilities
Support customer experience in store and via phone when ordering and purchasing products through cash and charge account transactions
Assist with administrative duties including daily transaction reconciliation, filing, end of day processing and opening/closing the store
Ensure inventory is organized and properly stored in the warehouse; stock showroom as needed
Receive and process inbound freight, including logging, receiving purchase orders and filling backorders
Assist branch manager in achieving and/or surpassing targeted budgeted sales projections
Assist branch manager with building and equipment maintenance
Conduct cylinder exchanges, purchases and returns
Fill various types of cylinders
Maintain fill records to ensure compliance and accountability
Prepare outbound freight for delivery, including picking, packing and staging for loading on trucks and/or shipping via other means
Ability to operate forklift
Follow and comply with all company safety policies
May assist in deliveries as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
Previous customer services experience required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Knowledge of welding processes and gas supplies preferred
Able to lift 75 pounds; maneuver 100+ pounds with mechanical assistance (rolling cart, pallet jack, etc.)
Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills preferred
Detail oriented; team player and adaptable
Must have Clean Driving Record
