Overview
The Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers professional grooming services at Paw Commons Pet Resort, upholding the organization’s high standards of care, client satisfaction, and animal safety. This role oversees daily grooming operations, supports sales initiatives, mentors team members, and collaborates across departments to ensure seamless service delivery. The Pet Stylist serves as a brand ambassador, promoting ethical animal handling and contributing to a positive client experience.

Compensation
Base pay range: $45,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Employment Type & Schedule
Full-Time: 32–40 hours/week (eligible for medical/dental/vision after 60 days, 401K/PTO after 1 year)
Part-Time: Under 32 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
Grooming Operations: Perform grooming services to Paw Commons’ standards, prioritizing pet safety and comfort; maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure proper tool/equipment maintenance.
Client Engagement & Sales: Proficiency in upselling grooming packages; provide accurate cost estimates, tailored recommendations, and proactive rebooking. Typical day includes multiple baths and haircuts as needed.
Training & Team Support: Assist in training new hires in grooming techniques, workflows, and safety protocols; monitor team performance, provide feedback and support skill development.
Compliance & Administration: Adhere to all safety policies, ethical standards, and documentation requirements; track grooming performance metrics, client feedback, and incident reports.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Communicate grooming-related challenges to the Salon Manager; partner with other departments to promote integrated service offerings.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum two years of advanced grooming experience, including unsupervised work with consistently high client ratings.
Prior customer service or sales experience in a pet care environment is preferred.
Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Skills & Abilities
Expertise in breed-specific grooming standards, advanced techniques, and safe animal handling.
Proficiency with grooming tools, Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Excel, Teams), and Gingr software (training provided).
Strong organizational, time management, and client communication skills (e.g., upselling, rebooking).
Ability to coach team members, provide constructive feedback, and adapt to dynamic priorities.
Commitment to ethical practices, compliance with safety protocols, and federal/state pet care regulations.
Fluency in English (bilingual skills encouraged).
Preferred Certifications
NDGAA, IPG, CMG or similar certifications are a plus.
Education
High school diploma or GED recommended.
