Overview UME Medical Science, HSV Curriculum – Curriculum Coordinator University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, School of Medicine (SOM)

Key Responsibilities The position supports the day‑to‑day administrative operations of the medical student curriculum for the Plains Medical Sciences, Health & Society, and Vista curricula. Responsibilities include:

Managing central curriculum inboxes and ensuring timely, high‑quality service.

Confirming session schedules, building course schedules, and publishing to student systems.

Uploading and auditing course materials in the Learning Management System (Canvas/Oasis) and ensuring availability to students.

Managing assignments and grading, reporting issues to faculty and the grading committee.

Communicating with faculty about learning events, attendance, and grading requirements.

Building and maintaining accurate course planning documents in Teams and other file systems.

Coordinating room and event space scheduling for on‑campus curriculum events.

Setting up and communicating online learning details for remote sessions.

Collaborating with Foothills and COMPASS staff to confirm details of Foothills Health & Society sessions.

Providing day‑to‑day support for assigned curriculum sessions across the Trek curriculum.

Collecting resources, printouts, and supplies for each session.

Greeting guest faculty and assisting campus navigation.

Using IT functions for common learning spaces to troubleshoot faculty and student issues.

Capturing student attendance and reporting results to faculty leadership.

Attending live Zoom sessions to support group breakouts, recordings, and technical functions.

Resolving scheduling issues when instructors or facilitators are absent.

Developing and documenting best practices and standard operating procedures.

Supporting Office of Medical Education events and purchasing supplies per university procurement processes.

Performing other duties as assigned by the Pre‑ and Post‑Clerkship Curriculum Manager.

Maintaining a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus, with additional in‑person meetings as needed.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum one year of high‑level administrative support experience in an academic environment.

1–2 years of experience working at a higher education institution.

Prior experience in an academic medical environment.

Experience applying and communicating policies and procedures.

Experience with curriculum management and coordination.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.

Knowledge of learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas).

Ability to align multiple competing demands and manage change.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for complex problem solving.

Effective communication with timely responses (within two business days).

Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and personal accountability.

Strong customer service orientation with de‑escalation skills.

Quick learner capable of grasping new concepts and applying them to core tasks.
