The HR Generalist at Rise Up for Autism (RUFA) plays a critical, hands‑on role in supporting day‑to‑day HR operations across multiple ABA therapy clinic locations. This individual will own core HR functions including
payroll administration, employee relations, leave management, and full‑cycle recruitment , while ensuring compliance with Illinois labor laws and healthcare/ABA regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Timekeeping
Process and oversee biweekly payroll through
iSolved , ensuring accuracy and timeliness Audit timecards, overtime, and PTO usage for compliance with company policy and Illinois law Partner with Operations and Scheduling to resolve payroll discrepancies Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits Leave & Compliance Management
Administer employee leave programs including
Illinois Paid Leave Act , FMLA (as applicable), and internal PTO policies Track and manage employee leave balances, eligibility, and documentation Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws Support audits and maintain HR compliance documentation Recruitment & Hiring
Lead full‑cycle recruitment for RBTs, BCBAs, and administrative staff Partner with clinic leaders to understand staffing needs and prioritize hiring Manage job postings (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.), candidate screening, and interview coordination Oversee offer process, background checks, and onboarding readiness Monitor hiring metrics including time‑to‑fill and retention within first 90 days Onboarding & Employee Experience
Facilitate onboarding process including new hire paperwork, system setup, and orientation coordination Ensure all employee documentation (licenses, certifications, credentials) is complete and compliant Support new hire engagement and retention efforts, especially within first 90 days Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS Employee Relations & Performance Support
Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, coaching managers on best practices Support disciplinary processes, documentation, and performance improvement plans (PIPs) Reinforce company policies, attendance expectations, and workplace standards Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement and retention initiatives HR Operations & Systems
Maintain and optimize HR systems including
iSolved
and related platforms Track HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, retention trends) and provide insights to leadership Support development and implementation of HR policies, SOPs, and process improvements Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Clinical, and Finance teams Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare, ABA, or multi‑site environments Experience processing payroll and managing employee leave Strong knowledge of Illinois labor laws and HR compliance requirements Experience with HRIS/payroll systems ( iSolved
preferred) Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills Preferred
Experience in
ABA therapy or healthcare services environment Familiarity with
CentralReach
or similar practice management systems Experience supporting high‑volume, hourly workforce (e.g., RBTs) SHRM‑CP or PHR certification Detail‑oriented with strong ownership mentality Ability to balance compliance with practical, people‑centered solutions High level of discretion and professionalism Strong sense of urgency and accountability Collaborative and solutions‑driven Why Join RUFA
