
Industrial Designer II

Assists in the design and assembly of water treatment systems by performing various technical duties. Prepares and modifies mechanical, P&ID, electrical, and assembly drawings. Assists in the fabrication of water treatment systems by sourcing components and coordinating with vendors. Assists in the preparation of technical material for product support and marketing purposes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Industrial Design Responsible for designing and assisting with the design of water treatment systems following guidance of Systems Assembly Manager.
Evaluates and sources components including pricing and lead times by contacting appropriate vendors and suppliers.
Prepares and maintains bills of materials using provided excel template. (BOMs).
Prepares reviews and modifies piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Prepares and reviews general arrangement (G&A) drawings.
Coordinates with administrative staff to ensure all components are delivered on time.
Documents the component needs to ensure that all staff know of any shortages.
Runs RO, scale inhibitor and EDI projections using available manufactures software and follows these projections in system design.
Responsible for all AS-BUILT drawings and related documentation.
Technical Support
Assists in evaluating and selecting hardware used in water treatment systems.
Prepares and reviews general arrangement drawings, and P&IDs.
Runs RO, scale inhibitor and EDI projections using available manufactures software.
Responsible for preparing training materials for clients, potential clients, sales reps, and other RODI personnel on technical aspects of products, product operation, and product troubleshooting. Responsible for preparing technical support materials for distributors, OEMs, end users, and other customers on a day-to-day basis.
Production Assistance
Assists in the preparation of documentation and procedures for fabrication, operation, and maintenance of water treatment systems.
Assists in construction and wiring of water treatment systems and products as necessary.
Assists in preparation of sales and marketing illustrations, literature, advertising, and sales presentations.
Special Projects
At the request or approval of the Systems Assembly Manager, the Industrial Designer shall participate in special projects including, but not limited to, custom system design and fabrication, new product development, existing product modification, or consulting projects.
The Industrial Designer may serve in a support role or as project manager at the discretion of the Systems Assembly Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for directing design work for all Industrial Designer level 1 employees to maintain a smooth and consistent workflow.
Ensures that all preliminary drawings and documentation materials are reviewed prior to submitting to the Systems Assembly Manager for review or approval.
Communicates to Industrial Designer 1 all edits and changes that need to be made during the preliminary stages of all drawings and documentation that have been reviewed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in suitable technical field from four-year college or university. Or an Associates degree in a suitable technical field from a two-year college and four years of industrial design experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under company car insurance. Must maintain a valid passport or qualify for such.
