Distribution Designer/Engineer – Maitland, FL We are seeking a Distribution Designer/Engineer with 1–3 years of Utility Distribution design and engineering experience. This role will join the Distribution Team in the Maitland (Orlando) office, supporting Duke Energy Florida overhead and underground distribution projects. Projects may include pole replacements, transformers, reclosers, reconductoring, insulators, and voltage conversions, utilizing Duke Energy systems such as Bentley Open Utilities Designer (BOUD), Maximo, and Pole Foreman.

Responsibilities & Duties

Design electrical distribution projects with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness

Organize and manage workload to ensure projects are completed through final delivery

Meet assigned deadlines while maintaining high-quality design standards

Communicate professionally and effectively with customers and internal stakeholders

Maintain consistent quality within a structured and deadline‑driven environment

Perform field work and attend field meetings as required based on project needs

Participate in internal and external meetings as necessary

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1–3 years of Distribution Design experience

AutoCAD experience a must

Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures

Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform job responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an ABET‑accredited institution

Duke Energy Distribution Design Experience (BOUD, Maximo, PoleForeman) highly preferred

SEDS experience preferred

Cable Pulling Assistant (CPA) experience preferred

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maitland, FL.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
