About Centr
Centr is a performance fitness platform founded by Chris Hemsworth. We sell connected fitness equipment ($500–$3,000+), digital training subscriptions, and increasingly, bundles that combine both. We're also the official equipment provider for HYROX, the fastest-growing fitness event in the world.
Our direct‑to‑consumer business is early‑stage and growing fast. We're not optimizing a mature machine, we're building a commerce engine from the ground up, with the brand, product catalog, and distribution tailwind to scale it significantly. This is a role for an operator who wants to build, not optimize.
The Role
You will own the full digital commerce engine from how customers find us, to what they see when they land, to what they buy, to how it gets to their door, to whether they stay.
That means paid acquisition, landing pages, on‑site conversion, merchandising, bundling, CRM and early retention, demand planning, and fulfillment coordination. One person with a lean team and full accountability.
The strategic direction is set: build a connected commerce model where equipment and subscription reinforce each other. A customer buys a home gym and gets a connected training program. A subscriber sees equipment that makes their training better. Your job is to make that work in the store, in the numbers, in the operations. You'll have strong opinions about how to get there. You'll also have a President who has strong opinions about where "there" is.
This is a hands‑on role with a small team (3–5 direct reports across CRO, media, and CRM). You'll be in Claude Code, Shopify, in the ad accounts, in the data daily. You'll own the P&L. You'll fight for margin while pushing for growth. You'll coordinate across Brand Marketing, Warehouse, Product, Support, and Sales and you'll need to be effective in a cross‑functional environment where not everyone reports to you.
We're also rebuilding centr.com from the ground up and you'll be a key voice in that project to ensure the rebuild serves commerce and conversion goals, not just design.
What You’ll Own
Paid Acquisition & Media — Run paid media across Meta, Google, and emerging channels. Plan, forecast, and manage spend to achieve efficient, scalable growth. Drive performance creative testing and partner with Brand Marketing on creative production. Connect demand creation with revenue outcomes.
Conversion & Funnel Optimization — Own the customer journey from ad click to purchase. Build and optimize landing pages for both subscription and DTC flows. Establish a real experimentation pipeline with hypotheses, tests, instrumentation, insights. Collaborate with Product and Engineering on onboarding improvements and early activation.
centr.com Revenue & Merchandising — Own on‑site conversion, merchandising strategy, product prioritization, and promotional calendar. Make centr.com convert for $500–$3,000 products, not just accessories. Navigate MAP constraints and channel conflict with Retail and Sales.
Bundle Strategy — Own the equipment + subscription bundle end‑to‑end: pricing architecture, purchase flow, merchandising, attach rate. This is the single highest‑leverage growth initiative in the business. Evolve it based on performance, operational constraints, and channel realities.
CRM & Early Retention — Shape the first 30–90 days of the customer journey: email, SMS, nudges, reactivation. Identify the behaviors that correlate with long‑term retention and build campaigns that support them. Work cross‑functionally with Content and Product on engagement drivers.
Operations & Demand Planning — Own revenue forecasting and coordinate with Warehouse and 3PL partners. You're accountable for the gap between what we sell and what we can actually ship. Balance growth ambition with operational reality and contribution guardrails.
Site Rebuild — Partner closely with Product and the agency on the centr.com rebuild. Ensure the new site architecture supports bundling, connected product storytelling, and conversion.
AI, Growth Analytics & Forecasting — Connect with our AI data layer to build software that makes us move faster. You’ll go beyond dashboards covering CAC, ROAS, conversion, AOV, retention, bundle attach, revenue, and efficiency. Build monthly and quarterly forecasts tied to spend, traffic, trials, subscriptions, and DTC orders. Make data‑driven decisions quickly knowing when to scale, pause, or shift.
What Success Looks Like (End of 2026)
- DTC revenue roughly doubled vs. prior year
- Equipment + app bundle established as a repeatable growth lever with measurable attach rate
- Efficient, scalable acquisition with predictable CAC and improving LTV:CAC ratio
- Site conversion and AOV improved while protecting contribution dollars
- Rebuilt centr.com launched on time, on budget, optimized for commerce
- Higher early retention through more effective activation and CRM
- Demand forecasting accurate enough to prevent stockouts and overstock on key SKUs
- A small, high‑output team operating with pace, precision, and clear operating rhythms
You Should Apply If
- You've built and scaled a DTC business from early stage to meaningful scale, not just optimized one that was already working
- You've owned a full‑funnel P&L from acquisition through conversion through retention, and understood the cost structure underneath, not just the top line
- You've sold or marketed high‑AOV physical products and understand how that changes the funnel, the creative, and the economics vs. low‑AOV replenishment businesses
- You've built or managed a bundle, membership‑attach, or subscription‑attach model tied to a physical product purchase
- You have real experience running paid media at scale ($3M+ annual) AND care about what happens after the click, you're not just an acquisition specialist or media buyer
- You have hands‑on Shopify experience, not “familiar with”
- You understand contribution margin, COGS, shipping economics, and inventory risk
- You've operated in a multi‑channel environment (DTC + retail + marketplace) and navigated the pricing tension that comes with it
- You're a builder who gets energy from going from messy to structured, not a maintainer who needs established playbooks
- You can manage a small team and create simple operating systems — weekly performance reviews, test syncs, creative rotations — without needing a large org to be effective
- You spend more time in Claude Code than anyone you know
You Probably Shouldn’t Apply If
- You need a large team to be effective. This is 3–5 direct reports, not 15
- You've only worked at businesses doing $50M+ in DTC revenue, the muscle memory is different at our stage
- You're purely a media buyer who doesn't want to think about merchandising, operations, or on‑site experience
- You're purely a site operator who doesn't want to think about acquisition, creative, or lifecycle
- You want to set the strategic vision and delegate all execution, you'll be in the platforms, in the data, in the weeds daily
- You want a fully built playbook. We're building the playbook here and you should enjoy that.
