
Construction Estimator

Insight Global is seeking a Construction Estimator to work on a large industrial project in Wilson, NC. This individual will be supporting the development of accurate construction cost estimates across all phases of design and delivery. This role partners closely with project management, design teams, and construction stakeholders to prepare cost plans, analyze cost drivers, and support value engineering efforts across commercial and capital projects, including industrial, life sciences, healthcare, and related sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction‑level cost estimates
Develop and maintain cost plans and estimate updates throughout the project lifecycle
Analyze drawings and specifications to perform quantity takeoffs and cost modeling
Identify key cost drivers, risks, assumptions, and escalation factors
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting with project controls teams
Participate in value engineering and cost optimization efforts
Review contractor bids and subcontractor proposals
Maintain historical cost data, benchmarks, and estimate documentation
Support proposal efforts and participate in client and internal meetings
Required Qualifications 5–7 years of experience in construction estimating or project cost roles Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field Strong understanding of construction cost components and estimating methodologies Ability to interpret design documents and perform detailed quantity takeoffs Proficiency with spreadsheet‑based estimating and cost modeling Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Experience Estimating experience in industrial, life sciences, healthcare, data centers, or large commercial projects Familiarity with parametric estimating, benchmarking, and estimating software Basic understanding of project controls, cost tracking, and change management
