Trillium Construction is now a Superintendent Excavation & Deep Foundation Projects in New York City, NY! Compensation: $175,000 $250,000 DOE. Eligibility: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Notable projects include: Purple Line (D Line) Extensions Los Angeles, CA; SR 99 Viaduct Replacement Tunnel Seattle, WA; East Side Access Projects New York, NY; Hudson Yards Platform New York, NY; Central Subway Third Street Light Rail San Francisco, CA The Superintendent will oversee construction projects involving deep excavation, soil disposal, secant and caisson installation, and Support of Excavation (SOE) systems. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all site activities. The Superintendent will lead project teams, manage subcontractors, coordinate with clients, and uphold engineering and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Management -Develop and manage schedules, budgets, and work plans for excavation and SOE scopes. -Coordinate design reviews for secant piles, caissons, walers, struts, and tiebacks. -Prepare and review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders. -Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies related to soil conditions, sequencing, and logistics. Field Oversight -Supervise daily excavation, shoring, drilling, and soil removal operations. -Ensure correct installation of secant pile walls, soldier piles, lagging, walers, rakers, struts, and caissons. -Verify compliance with project drawings, geotechnical/structural requirements, and inspection reports. -Monitor heavy equipment operations, including excavators, drilling rigs, cranes, and haul trucks. Safety & Compliance -Enforce OSHA and company safety standards onsite. -Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments. -Ensure environmental compliance in soil handling, groundwater management, and site control. Material & Subcontractor Management -Coordinate procurement of steel, concrete, bracing systems, drilling consumables, and dewatering equipment. -Manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and schedule adherence. -Review and approve subcontractor invoices and progress reports. Communication & Reporting -Serve as primary contact for clients, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies. -Provide progress updates, cost tracking, and risk assessments. -Lead coordination meetings with general contractors, engineers, and utilities. Qualifications -Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. -10+ years of civil construction projects experience. -Hands-on experience with secant piles, caissons, soldier pile and lagging systems, and steel bracing (walers, struts, rakers). -Strong geotechnical knowledge, including soil classifications and site logistics. -Proficiency in reading construction drawings, structural and geotechnical reports. -Skilled in construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). -Experience in cost control, budgeting, and change order management. -Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. -OSHA 30 preferred. -PMP Certification preferred. -Deep Foundation Institute (DFI) or related certifications preferred. -Engineering-in-Training (EIT) or PE license preferred.
