Overview

Aquent is partnering with a globally recognized leader in the consumer goods industry-an organization celebrated for its innovation, operational excellence, and premium brand portfolio. We are seeking a Sales & Use Tax Analyst to support critical tax compliance functions across U.S. state and local jurisdictions.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting

Prepare accurate and timely sales and use tax returns across multiple state and local jurisdictions

Maintain and support monthly tax journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed working papers tied to General Ledger balances

Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. state and local tax regulations

Nexus & Regulatory Compliance

Assist in nexus analysis, identifying filing requirements, and registering in new jurisdictions as needed

Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to compliance processes

Audit & Issue Resolution

Respond to state and local tax notices and inquiries, including research and resolution of discrepancies

Support tax audits and special compliance projects as assigned

Research & Cross-Functional Partnership

Conduct research on technical tax issues and provide clear recommendations

Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and cross-functional business teams to ensure alignment and accuracy

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of tax processes

Contribute to ongoing process optimization and productivity initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of experience in sales and use tax compliance

Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems required

Familiarity with Taxware or other tax compliance software

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

Ability to work with a sense of urgency and operate independently

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices
