The Department of Design and Construction seeks to hire a Director for the Office of Quality Assurance. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the selected candidate will manage the overall activities of the Materials Testing & Fabrication Inspection, and Field Auditing Units, including supervision of the Deputy Director, a group of engineers, technicians, inspectors, and consultants, to ensure that all materials and products used in DDC capital construction projects conform to DDC specifications, performance requirements, and construction industry standards. The selected candidate will oversee and manage all quality assurance activities, including audits of Public Buildings and Infrastructure construction projects; inspections of various materials within the manufacturing and assembly plants, concrete and asphalt plants, and testing laboratories; coordination of material inspection requests, assignment of consultant, review and distribution of inspection and test results; and, vendor approval process. Additional responsibilities will include: all aspects of contract management, developing and updating SOPs and manuals, conducting performance evaluations, attending various meetings, preparing and delivering presentations, interacting with the Deputy Director and Section Chiefs to ensure projects are prioritized and to monitor key performance indicators with a focus on continuous improvement; preparing periodic project status reports for Senior Management, representing the Safety & Site Support Division at intra/ inter-agency and regulatory agency meetings, and providing needed information to outside agencies.

ADMINISTRATIVE ENGINEER - 10015
Minimum Qualifications
- A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer and six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or plan examining work, at least two (2) years of which must have been in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity.
Preferred Skills
Candidate should have a minimum of ten years construction-related and supervisory experience and have practical knowledge of material testing and fabrication operations. A working knowledge of AASHTO, ASME, ASTM, API, AWWA, and AWS codes and standards metallurgy and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
