Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics!Job Summary:Sets the strategy and standards for implementation of functionality and services for ensuring quality deliverables from both the in-house technical teams and external providers. Ensures development processes adhere to applicable Crane A&E standards and metrics; defines processes unique to the site / Solution. This role will directly manage several teams of varied engineering disciplines working on various products and will be responsible for the proper functioning and output of the engineering process. This position may manage teams across multiple locations.Essential Functions:Develop environment that utilizes site skill sets and allows collaboration on development projectsWorks with business development team to drive technology roadmap for future skills/projectsProvide leadership and management for Solution-wide product development and sustaining programs and activitiesProvide leadership efforts to enhance current products and develop new productsEvaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of design activitiesPlan and manage the deployment of resources for multiple projectsEstablish and monitor departmental budgetEstablish and manage operating plan budgets for IR&D, sustaining, funded engineering, and marketing supportEncourage and provide opportunity for continued relevant technical training and provide mentoring to new engineersReview and set up optimized work flowEstablish and maintain design guidelines and design processesProvide the appropriate skill mix to sustain and grow the business and to meet customer requirementsProvide interface and direct/indirect support to outside suppliers, 3rd party development activities, and customer product integrationProvide technical contact for customer supportSupport business proposals and engineering estimates for development and recurring costs on new programsDevelop, enhance and maintain a core team as well as an external network of consultants, contractors and suppliers to support product development Develop a culture that is focused on results and that balances innovation and accountabilityAny other tasks assigned by supervisor or managementMinimum Qualifications:Experience: 15+ years of experience in product design and manufacturing. Previous experience managing multiple teams.Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of Military, Space and Commercial Aerospace standards and related processes. Demonstrated experience with industry supply standards and practices.Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated experience in budgeting, planning and assigning resources. Demonstrated ability to develop strategic business-unit plan objectives. Demonstrated problemanalysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Demonstrated ability in employee development, team building, communication, CI and PM principles. Education/Certification: BSEE or related technical Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in the RF field.Eligibility Requirement: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Additionally, as a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
