Structural Steel Estimator

to join their team in the greater Madison, WI area. This role focuses on preparing detailed cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects while collaborating with internal teams and contractors to develop competitive bids. What You'll Do as the Structural Steel Estimator: Review structural and architectural drawings to understand project scope Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication Analyze material, labor, and fabrication requirements to develop accurate project budgets Collaborate with internal estimating and production teams to refine estimates Communicate with contractors and project stakeholders to clarify specifications and scope Assist with preparing bid submissions and supporting documentation Evaluate fabrication approaches and identify cost drivers for each project Participate in internal estimating strategy discussions Must-Haves as the Structural Steel Estimator: Experience estimating structural steel, metal fabrication, or related construction scopes Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and construction specifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners Comfort working in an office-based estimating role Nice-to-Haves as the Structural Steel Estimator: Experience with Tekla FabSuite or similar steel fabrication software Experience with Bluebeam for drawing review and markups Background working within a structural steel fabrication environment Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and analysis Our Client Offers: Competitive salary typically ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 depending on experience Annual bonus opportunities Profit-sharing program Comprehensive benefits package A collaborative and team-oriented culture Opportunity to work on unique and technically interesting steel fabrication projects Trueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
