Inside Sales /Service Writer

REIC Rentals is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Inside Sales/Service Writer to join our growing team in Hermiston, OR. This hybrid role serves as the central link between customers, the service department, and daily store operations. You'll support sales at the front counter while managing parts inventory, service orders, and cost controls behind the scenes. What You'll Do Customer & Sales Support Answer incoming calls, reservations, and dispatch requests Assist customers in person and over the phone Recommend safe, appropriate rental equipment Negotiate rental rates to maximize profitability Maintain accurate rental transactions and inventory counts Walk the yard daily to stay familiar with equipment status Load/unload equipment as needed Keep the counter, showroom, and yard organized Service Writing & Parts Management Take customer calls for rental equipment issues Create and close purchase orders Order parts for internal repairs Enter accurate parts and labor data into POR system Manage parts inventory, stocking levels, and pricing schedules Oversee parts profit margins and cost controls Administer manufacturer and internal warranty claims Ensure on-time delivery of parts and manage shipping decisions Conduct periodic inventory counts and manage stale inventory Research vendor resources and obtain parts breakdowns Measures of Performance Parts profit margin Inventory value vs. company goals Inventory accuracy On-time parts deliveries Accuracy of parts acquisition Operational efficiency in service workflow What We're Looking For Strong customer service and sales experience Excellent communication and relationship-building skills High-level proficiency in POR system (preferred) Mid-to-high Excel spreadsheet skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Experience in equipment rental, construction, or heavy equipment environment preferred Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting Clean driving record Innovative thinker with problem-solving ability Ability to assist in development and management of budgets You'll Also Be A motivated, reliable team player Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision Adaptable in both retail counter and operational shop environments Willing to cross-train and train others in parts procedures Why You’ll Love REIC Rentals Competitive salary + bonus opportunities Health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family 401(k) with company match after 60 days 3 weeks PTO + 9 paid holidays Ongoing professional development and leadership training Company-paid volunteer opportunities A supportive, family-style culture where your ideas and leadership matter Apply today and help keep our equipment - and our customers - moving.
