About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Superintendent / Foreman to support daytime or overnight operations for Big Box Retail Remodel projects. This role assists the Superintendent in coordinating on-site construction activities, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring work progresses according to schedule while working closely with subcontractors, vendors, and the project team.
Key Responsibilities: · Assist the Superintendent in managing daily construction activities on an active remodel site. · Help enforce safety standards and maintain a clean and organized jobsite. · Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure work is completed per plans, specifications, and schedule. · Support the completion of daily reports and progress updates for the Project Manager and Superintendent. · Conduct regular jobsite walks to monitor progress and identify potential issues. · Assist in protecting existing store operations during remodel work, especially during overnight shifts. · Participate in planning meetings and support clear communication between day and night crews. · Help manage punch list items and turnover activities to meet aggressive schedule milestones. · Provide on-site leadership and support for field crews when the Superintendent is unavailable.
Qualifications: · 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction as a Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role. · Experience with retail remodels, grocery stores, or occupied commercial spaces is preferred. · Basic understanding of construction drawings, schedules, and phased construction. · OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). · Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work overnight shifts and travel as required (typically Sunday-Thursday nights). · Comfortable using construction management tools such as Wrike, ACC, PlanGrid , or similar platforms.
