Account Receivable Representative

We are seeking an Account Receivable Representative with experience in healthcare payment posting. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of manual and electronic payments, interpreting remittance advice, and resolving complex payment discrepancies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of payer rules and revenue cycle principles within a healthcare setting. Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Partial Remote) Employment Type: Contract to Perm Key Responsibilities

Perform manual and electronic payment posting from various payer sources. Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs), and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs - 835 files). Apply contractual adjustments, proration logic, and secondary/tertiary payment rules correctly. Resolve complex denials and reconcile unapplied payments in a timely manner. Allocate lump-sum payments accurately across multiple patient accounts and dates of service. Research payment variances and independently resolve discrepancies. Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend process improvements. Work with clearinghouses, payer portals, and lockbox files to ensure payment reconciliation. Required Qualifications

Experience: 35 years of experience in healthcare payment posting (manual and electronic). Deep understanding of payer rules including Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers' Compensation. Experience resolving complex denials and reconciling unapplied payments. Working knowledge of revenue cycle accounting principles and payment reconciliation. Experience in rehab, home health, or residential healthcare settings is preferred. Technical Skills: Experience with Interactant (HCS), WellSky, or other EMR/payment posting systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reconciliation tools. Familiarity with batch files, remittance matching, and automated versus manual posting environments. Abilities: High attention to detail when posting across multiple accounts. Strong math and analytical skills to interpret remittances and validate posting accuracy. Ability to learn and retain EMR system training quickly. Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay rate for this position is $28.00 per hour. Please note that this is a contract-to-permanent role. Benefits available to eligible employees.
